X3: Reclaim your adventure

The world’s most technologically advanced microprocessor knee

X3 Microprocessor Knee.

X3: uniquely intelligent, ready for anything

X3 is the result of a collaboration between the US military and Ottobock. The goal was to design a prosthesis that was intelligent, durable and rugged enough to enable service members with above knee amputations to return to active duty. X3 achieved that goal and more. From our military’s finest to the adventure-seeker and athlete, X3 delivers the most intuitive and dynamic control available in microprocessor knee technology.

Waterproof! The X3 has undergone stringent waterproof testing. Completely submersible, the X3 allows unprecedented contact with water including showering, swimming, boating, fishing and more. Ideal for patients working in or near water!

Run, walk, run Via the remote or new Cockpit app for Android, the X3 can switch into a larger swing phase angle suited for running and other sports. In addition, the innovative Walk2Run mode is ideal for running short distances and start-and-stop running such as across a street, down the hall or to catch a bus. In that mode, the X3 detects a walk-to-run transition and the swing angle automatically increases, with no preflexion.

Robust and read The rugged design of X3 is based on conditions an active duty service member might face. As a result, X3 can withstand the elements – from rough and tough terrain to diving into water.

The most natural gait possible The X3 features Inertial Motion Unit control, a patented technology from Ottobock that enables the prosthesis to identify where a user’s leg is in space. This feature, coupled with Optimized Physiological Gait technology, enables the user to walk with the most natural gait possible, step backwards with confidence, tackle stairs, slopes and uneven terrain and worry less about stumbling or falling.

Real-world mobility  More physical capabilities for the real world than any other prosthetic leg including running, walking backwards, crossing obstacles in a more anatomically correct way, and climbing stairs step-over-step without massive compensating movements – an action that previously appeared impossible for those with above knee limb loss.

Keep going for longer  X3 offers improved battery life and an automatic "sleep" mode. That translates into five plus days of use without the need for a recharge and results in greater independence.

5 activity modes Programmed using a laptop and integrated Bluetooth technology, five activity modes can be set for biking, golfing, driving and more. They are activated using the new Cockpit app for Android or the remote.

Add an Ottobock foot Recommended waterproof feet are the 1C63 Triton Low Profile  and the 1C64 Triton Heavy Duty. Other approved feet include 1C60, 1C61, and 1C62 Tritons; the 1E56 Axtion; the 1E57 LoRider®; the 1C30 Trias and 1C31 Trias+; 1C40 C-Walk®; and the 1D35 Dynamic Motion.

The X3 carries a 3-year standard warranty with free service inspections at the 12th and 24th months.
